The public is invited to participate in the public consultation on new potential areas of intervention under the Operational Integrated Forest Management Plans (PAFIO) and under the Special Management Plans (PAS) for the recovery of wood affected by the Spruce Budworm in the Coulonge field units (UA 071-51 and 071-52), the Basse-Lièvre (UA 072-51) and the Haute-Gatineau-et-du-Cabonga (UA 073-51, 073-52 and 074-51).
The MRC of Pontiac has received the mandate from the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts (MRNF) to conduct this public consultation in the Outaouais region.
From October 28 to November 21, 2025, the MRC of Pontiac invites the public to express its concerns regarding the addition of potential areas of intervention on the public forest territory of the Outaouais as part of the PAFIO and PAS.
Content of potential new areas of intervention
The potential new intervention sectors under the Operational Integrated Forest Management Plans (PAFIO) and Special Management Plans (PAS) concern silvicultural works that could be carried out as early as April 2026. These types of work may include timber harvesting, reforestation, clearing, thinning and land preparation as well as construction and improvement of multi-purpose roads.
To participate in an information session
In collaboration with the MRC Pontiac, the MRNF will hold a virtual information session on this public consultation to:
- Specify the proposed work
- Specify how to comment online
- Specify the action taken on comments made in public consultation
- Answer your questions
This information session will be held virtually via Teams on:
- Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 12:30 to 13:30 – Register before November 3, 2025 at 12:00
- Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 19:00 to 20:00 - Register before November 4, 2025 at 12:00

Your comments will be forwarded to the coordinator of the Table régionale de gestion intégrée des ressources et du territoire de l'Outaouais (TRGIRTO), who will produce a report for the MRNF.
The purpose of this consultation is to gather feedback on proposed forest planning. It does not review the use of public land or the rights granted to it.
